Incorporating a little fruity fun into my nail art designs has been so much fun, and the watermelon design is one of my latest efforts. It’s fairly simple to do, so even beginners could give this one a go, provided they have a little patience!

Prepare the nails as you would normally. If you need tips on how to get your nails ready, read my post on nail preparation for a step-by-step guide.
Step 1: Paint the entire nail using the pink polish.
Step 2: Start painting the tip using the lighter shade of green. I usually start by painting a straight tip and then extend the outer edges to form the curve.
Step 3: Use the black liner and dot a few black dots onto the pink area of the nail. If you use a loaded brush, the dots will be tear shaped and will look even more like watermelon seeds.
Step 4: Use a fan brush to apply the darker green to the nail tips. This will be the skin of the watermelon.
Step 5: Use the white liner to create the white part of the watermelon. Draw along the edge of the French tip, following the same curve. You could also use a white nail art pen for this if you have one handy.
Once that’s done, allow the nails to dry completely and then add a top coat of your choice to seal in your nail art design and to help preserve it for a few days longer. This is the perfect design for spring time, and the bright colors are enough to brighten up anyone’s day.
